I knew well before the weekend last week that it would be too rainy and too muddy to get out on the trails on Sunday. I had quite the lazy weekend, but I did have my two youngest around for part of the weekend for a bit of company. I did have King, my sons dog for several days that's always fun. He was disappointed though that the rain kept him in and we didn't get to go off hiking.
My left knee has been hurting a bit for the past few days. I was unable to do more than a few steps on the stair-stepper this morning due to the pain. I'm not sure why it is hurting so much, but I'll rest it for a few days and I'll limit myself to my yoga routine for now.
This upcoming weekend looks to be a bit too busy too , so I doubt I'll get on the trails. I've to go to Austin to pick up some furniture from my daughter that she is giving to my son. A couple of nice mid-modern tables and entertainment cabinet. I'll have to refinish them before I take them to him. That will be a good project to work on over the long Easter weekend. I hope to also get a few plants purchased while I am there, so that will keep me busy on Sunday working in the garden.
So how do I deal with this recurring knee pain? Is it just my age? will it be something I will deal with the rest of my life? I just keep hoping that as I get in better shape and get stronger it will subside, but what if it does not? Will it be the end of my EBC dream? I am not ready to give up yet. I know that as long as I can keep working towards that goal I will keep motivated to keep hiking and working out.
and that is a good thing.
